Vanitas

This piece is an 8x10 inch painting, completed with acrylic and alcohol markers on canvas. The work was inspired by 17th century vanitas paintings, in which artists used intricate details and symbolism to highlight the transient nature of life and the importance of spiritual or moral (which I will put under the umbrella term, human) values over material possessions and earthly desires.
